    The Guild Masters

Post by Bacon on Tue Mar 17, 2015 4:38 pm

    Alright. Guildmasters...

    Light

    Fairy Tail - OPEN

    Blue Pegasus - OPEN

    Lamia Scale - OPEN

    Sabertooth - OPEN

    Independent

    Black Airs - SORA

    Dark

    The Agency - SPINAL TAP

    Tartarus - OPEN

I'm not going to take any so there's that....

Just going over the points that were brought up and decided/still needed to be discussed. Just making sure they're good and ready to go.

    1. So it was decided that those who take a guild now will 'jump' to this _?_ rank. They get the bonuses of an s rank mage, but if they lose their position for whatever reason, they go back to the level they started in

    2. Those who wish to purchase a guild will need to be of at least A rank. Furthermore, they must need to have the necessary funds to purchase it.

    3. Avoiding the 'Zenneth Effect.' [insert unintelligent muttering here]: Those who inherit to guild can do so at any rank(?), but they will not jump up ranks, but rather obtain the 'Keyblade Boost' of 1, 000 EXP(?)? Hm.. I mean, if they inherit a guild, they become Guildmasters. Shouldn't there be a way for the to get this _?_ rank thing? Not automatically, but still?

    4. Applying to become GM: I'll hand Levatian a guild if he wishes one, but after that, I guess we can go the RP sample way. Make it like the Slayer application? Or does anyone else have another idea?

On the point of allowing those who inherited a Guild's Guild Master position. What I'm thinking is, maybe we have them take part in say, the following two thread concepts; Council Summons (This has been shown a few times. The Magic Council calls upon the Guild Master's to give reports and sometimes their view on how a situation could be handled.), Guild Master Meeting (The annual meeting of the Guild Master's.). Each of these threads would have to be X Number of words long. Another solution is, we have the retiring Guild Master's pick say, 3-4 candidates and each of these candidates does the usual GM application. We, as Staff, then evaluate each of said applications and whichever one we believe fits the expected criteria for the respective Guild best, is chosen as the new Guild Master.

As for Applying to be a Guild Master, I'd say, make an application and have it match the requirements of applying for a Slayer Position. However, we should ask them not only act out as if they already have the position, but they also have the hit upon certain aspects of said position.

Simple... Gonna say this one time... and only because I have no other way of saying it..

    Starting GM, S rank.

Anyone that buys a guild, no rank boost.

Anyone that inherits a guild, + 50% EXP

    1. can and always will hate this idea. Although I don't mind the original guildmasters getting some oomph it should never happen again.

    2. Okay das ist okay.

    3. Can be done although would need a little more detail orientation.

    4. Although early on the rp sample will work once the site gets on its feet and starts walking, people should have plenty of stuff that they can point to to say "this is my rp ability and what I do consistently" so it should be about what they've already done rather than giving another irritating hoop do jump through. A gm with no real character development is not a good gm.

So the few that we have now... big boost.

    Later... No boost?

    (Did I reiterate that right?)

I guess that's what I'm kind of saying. Well, not big boost but a boost. Something to establish that they are in fact guild masters. Really I'd rather guildmasters be entirely separate from the ranking entity that we so use.

Well on another site, this is the "Keyblade Concept" where the holder blah blah gets 10,000 EXP (A-Rank) Lose the keyblade, lose the rank boost.

But yeah, dunno how to differentiate a GM from reg people. FTRP's "SS rank" was a bit too much imo.

another reason to eliminate ranks because frankly. There's nothing to differentiate from aside from them being 'in charge'.

Although that is assumed to also mean 'most powerful' it doesn't have to be the case. Some degree of power is probably necessary but not everything. Just make a requirement like B-rank to inherit a guild and let all gms start at that point. Thus giving them something to work towards rp wise rather than feeling they have everything and less to strive for.

For now I suggest all guild masters start of SS. Why? Because SS rank symbolizes the power, the status of the GM. Since we have very little people all GM should start at SS. However in the future when we get more people, why not have a player be a certain rank before they become a GM. Lets say they would need to be at least A rank (I personally believe that S rank would be more suitable...) That way people who actually are "qualified and strong enough to be a GM" obtain a position. Cuz lets be honest the worst feeling is when you work so hard and someone in a waaay lower rank than you swoops the position because the GM favors that player. When we have more people, players that inherit the GM position they are the same rank. Meaning they become GM at A rank. Well that person stays A rank. If they inherit the guild at S rank than they're GM at S rank. It's stupid for people to gain random boosts due to becoming a GM. If you think about it, if you enforce this rule GMS will be more cautious to hand over the guild to someone with a lower rank than them. But for now since we are starting off, we need at least a few people rank SS to GMS. (I suggest if someone wants to apply for a GM at this moment, thier application should have more content, and should have a rp sample to show if they are worth to become a GM)

Yes, I do agree with this.

    Sooooooo... Just a recap:

    1. Ranks will remain the same: D to S. No 'special rank' will be given out. Only those that get a current guild get a 'keyblade' boost.

    2. Remains the same.

    3. Those inheriting a rank must be at least B rank and gets no boosts

    4. Other than just handing them out to y'all (cause i know how you all rp and such,) have them give an app. RP sample would have to be either about obtaining the guild and or RPing the position.

    ^^^^^^

so that's the recaps right? any comments and or objections? 0.o

although we've mostly settled the how many guilds issue I think its important to establish and lay out what a gm is expected to do on the site and what privileges they may have.

    what is given:

1.) A view into the staff inner dealings. This is something to prevent any major corruption issues which can happen and a incredibly serious. If there's someone whose allowed to peek in and see, hey they're doing something wrong, it is incredibly wrong. We can even so far as to allow them to give opinions if gms are worthy enough. Consider them 'pseudo-staff members' who although don't do work and have authority of site rules, can be expected as members of the site to provide helpful insight as a whole.

2.) everything involving their guild requires their seal of approval. They have the right to refuse members with provided reason. Even if OOC or IC a good reason is a good reason (although OOC reasons are usually less good).

3.) Haven't figured this out yet.

    What's expected of gms:

    1.) activity, self explanatory

2.) As elite members of the site(or considered), they'll be expected to give assistance in improving new members apps and encouraging character development, helping with making peoples missions, acting as a sort of big brother to help new members as the veteran. Basically they need the know the rules of the site inside and out and all the in between.

3.) acting as a medium between staff and players to improve communication between them. Time and time again I've seen sites fall apart because of bad communication between a site and its players. This is the reason behind privilege number 1. It boosts the trust of the staff and improves the relationship overall. When staff starts getting shifty, I'll expect the gms to be the first to step up, if they're doing a good job or any change their implementing is founded and has been properly discussed, I'm all for these things.

    locking.

(Yes, GMs will be some pseudo dev by default. As they will be creating events which will effect the site.)
