    Shooting among the Stars [Private/Aemi]

Post by Norou Shikage on Sat Nov 07, 2015 12:05 am

The life of the young and famous is often thought to be extremely extravagant, with no limits on money and material things are nothing more than a swipe away, this is not the life that Drake lead at the moment though it was much more of a thing that was by choice instead of some tragedy despite the tragedies involved with his life. He was a rather stable and strong person, a stature that was matched by only those known to be the best and that wasn't even with the slightest mention of his accomplishments as a mage. As a mage he was spectacular, not just focusing on the power of his magic but it's raw beauty, the ability to bring things from outside the planet into the view of others, things they'd probably never see, most refer to seeing him use magic as something that they could only read about, even in an age where mages made up a quarter of the population.

Drake had decided to start his own guild after finally finding his father, Draco Rosenhard whom had been a big name in the magical world as well as the financial world, on top of being extremely rich, Draco as well as his wife were both members of the magic council, helping create laws and ensuring that the magic world was safe from evil. Unfortunately Mallory had lost her life in the war the ensued due to the criminal actions of a guild known as Animus Sin as they lead and attack on the Magic Council in order to take down the powers that be, Draco was also thought to have been dead up until Drake found his father, learning that he had ran away from the way, not being able to harbor the weight of the loss of his wife on his shoulder, a once powerful and happy man had been destroy by war, by Animus Sin.

Instead of following down the exact path his father had, Drake decided he would make his own Legend, become whoever he wanted to be, not defined by riches of power or even a name, he would forge his own path or he would die trying because he was not one to give up so easily, he believed that it is better to live on your feet then to die on your knees. He had a certain aura about him that radiated confidence and resolve, he was never confused, he knew what he wanted and he would go after it, he would break down walls and fight his way thought whatever it was he had to that might be blocking his way, he held no real fear in his heart and a look in his eye that could reassure even the most lost person.

Finding himself in Hargeon, he was out to recruit members to his newly formed guild, with money from his parents he had purchased a guild hall, a rather beautiful one at that and with that gift from them he started his own path, forming his own ideals. Drake did not believe in a central power other than the Kingdom itself, the King had not been too imposing upon his people nor to oppressive and for this he respected the kingdom in a certain manner. As far as mages went and the powers that they held he believed that it should be up to people like himself, those with strong morals and the sense of right and wrong to protect the people from mages whom have strayed down the darkest of paths, using they're magic for purposes of sheer destruction. He did not see himself as a higher power but he did see himself as someone with the power to stop evil, he wishes for a world where there were no dark mages, where people could be themselves and express themselves without the need for darkness.

Drake was a bit of a drinker, only recreationally because he enjoyed being drunk, he was more of a listening type when sober so getting drunk really helped him to loosen up, become more sociable and reach out to people as he had a hard time finding the right words to say most of the time since his brain seemed to never stop, it was like a racing bullet train, he could be thinking about one thing but then at the same time he had a thousand other thoughts running through his head at the very same time. He was at a bar known to have no name, it was in a more slum type of area where he would be less recognized, where he could truly be himself. The lights were dim and the bar was at a pace where it wasn't to empty but also not to full, the perfect amount. He strolled in wearing his usual attire which consisted of one of his favorite pair of blue jeans which had a chain that attached from a front left belt loop to a back left belt loop, hanging just below his left pocket, A white t shirt which was completely spotless and of course his signature zip up hoodie which had fur around the rim of the hood.

Drake worked his way thought the bar slowly, taking in the vibe of the pop music playing over the speakers in the bar, taking in the sounds and conversations of the people surrounding the circular type bar which had been in the dead center of the building and of course the lovely aroma of the various beers and liquors held within the building. He made his way to a singular empty spot at the bar, there was no chair as a part of four had taken the char elsewhere in the bar so he approached the bar, putting his elbows down on the bar and holding his head up with his hands as he stared at one of the bartenders until she came over and took his order, bringing him a rocks glass of tequila quickly. To his left there had been a shorter girl, seemingly his age, she seemed to have been by herself but he wasn't one to make assumptions so quickly and to his right, an older fellow who had been completely off his rocker drunk, annoying one of the bartenders with his terrible pick-up lines. Taking a nice big sip of his tequila he let out a seemingly relieved sigh, at first it stung his taste buds but the after taste was so good to him, it was much better than a fine wine.

Aemi had been laying low for the past few days, avoiding any run ins with familiars. She figured the best plan of action was to stay in the lower economy areas, since most people she had been associated had plenty of money to afford much stabler lifestyles. The bar was a tight space, but it wasn't too crowded. The loud bass that rumbled over the overplayed pop music made the area much more impersonal... just what Aemi was hoping. She had hopped over on a seat at the bar where she had ordered a shot of whiskey, followed by a beer. Tucking her chin into her scarf, she wanted to avoid any and all altercations with familiar people as she possibly could.

She had sat there for about a half hour before she had pushed her empty beer bottle toward the bartender, pointing to her shot glass for another. That was when a young man had then leaned into the bar next to her, crimson hair slicked back, and eyes that seemed to glow in the dim lighting. Just by the way he groomed and held himself, she could tell that his lifestyle wasn't that of the others who were hanging around here. What was he doing in a place like this? Hiding from familiar faces like she was? Or... maybe he was a spy?

No, that couldn't possibly be. She had been on the move for several days now, and never stayed in the same place twice. Who could have possibly followed her movements?... but why in the world was someone of his kind putting himself through such a slummish bar? She had stared at him for a moment while he was facing away before turning back to face the bar, noticing a shot glass that was poured in front of her. Well, it was a bit too late to worry. She hadn't really drank in a while, and if she was going to make herself nervous, she'd get sick. Downing the shot, she sighed.

Spy or no spy, he didn't belong here... but neither did she.

After a short ten minutes Drake had been through three rocks glasses of tequila, top shelf just like he liked it, dirty, strong and yet ironically smooth at the same time, the taste on his tongue was like no other, it was one of his few guilty pleasures that he just simply could not get enough of. He was in a tipsy state at this point, not drunk enough to be crazy or do anything irrational yet just drunk enough to become very sociable and comfortable with just about anyone who would entertain a conversation wit him. He wasn't sure exactly what it was about him but most of the time, at least sober, he found that it was hard for him to hold a conversation, whether it was because he was such an intellectual that some of the things he would say or want to talk about actually intimidated people or whether it was that he was just actually bad at personal connections to a certain point that it put up a wall in his life that he had a hard to overcoming.

Never the less, he found himself at a break in one of his favorite guilty pleasures, he knew his limits and tested them all the time, he was no fool nor would he be taken for one under any circumstance, he was a man of pride, whether that be a good or bad thing, it was important to him. He turned around in his spot, leaning his back against the bar gently, putting his elbows up at the bar, the wall behind him had mirrors on the wall's stretching down to the upper seating area roughly ten feet down the bar from him. He took this moment of being drunk and alone to asses himself, something he found himself doing often, self reflection was important to him because if one did not check themselves they how could they caliber themselves?

Smiling at himself in the mirror, a cocky moment? Drake at least thought he wasn't capable of being cocky, he knew himself very well and often reflect so he felt immune to narcissism, it was a trait that most didn't understand. He gave himself a slight nod of reassurance in the mirror, he felt good and he felt good about himself once again, losing his mother and father at the same time was something he had been drinking heavily about for the past couple months but after finding his father whom he had thought dead made him feel so much better almost as if a huge weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. Taking a quick glance to his right he saw the man whom had already been smashed ten minutes ago, harassing bartenders, he was needless to say passed out face first on the bar, chuckling to himself he went with his usual instinct, to the left, he was a leftie and proud of it as well. To his left was someone he could probably talk to, she seemed to be alone at the bar now, it had been a solid ten minutes and she hadn't talked to a single soul, calmly drinking down her whiskey and beer, he admired that despite the fact that he was a tequila guy himself.

Putting on his best boy-ish grin he turned his head slightly to the left, leaning in towards the girl slightly, just enough so she could realize that he was talking to her but not enough to seem like a drunken creep he laughed gently, "Hey, look over my shoulder at this guy. I don't know him so I don't know whats going on but if it's a woman making him drink til the point of passing out at a bar like this, I'd rather be single for the rest of my life!" He said before breaking into an all out laugh, he wasn't laughing specifically at the guy but the thought of what he just said terrified him, his only way of getting through things that scared him was to laugh though which wasn't actually a bad thing.

Aemi's grasp on the shot glass tightened a bit as her lips pursed together tightly. She couldn't tell if it was the slight warmth that the alcohol had given her, or if she was starting to feel under pressure because a stranger was talking to her. And not just any stranger - the one that she was suspicious of. Still, she couldn't allow herself to crack, especially if he was a spy. She had to maintain herself, on the off chance that he really was just a normal guy and there was someone else of suspicion in the bar who hasn't captured her attention yet.

Still, why was he talking to her? She wasn't exactly one who looked very... sociable. Most people avoided her for the most part, but maybe that was because she always came off as rather hardened and stoic. Sighing, she pushed the shot glass forward and ran her fingers through her hair, looking back at the man who was speaking to her. She tried her hardest to look normal, but in truth, she was absolutely exhausted, and the stress was showing in her face. while she usually had a smile that could light up a room when she was genuinely excited or thrilled to see someone, she couldn't even curve her lip higher than a smirk to appear interested in the conversation. And for as socially awkward as she was, she hated being rude, and was actually quite lonely and wished she had more people she could talk to.

Then again, if she were to start giving into conversation, she could reveal a weakness, or say something stupid, and then what would happen? No, no, no, Aemi, you can't be so distrustful all the time... she groaned in her head. Letting her hand drop to her side, she attempted with as much effort as possible to look interested in what he had to say as she peered over at the man behind him that he was referring to. It was true, the man was drinking like a fish. To his single comment, she nodded in agreement. "I honestly don't understand the point of relationships, especially if you're just going to party anyways and lose control of yourself," she shrugged. "Besides, it's a distraction and always leads to one, if not all three very bad things - Heartbreak, marriage, or children."

As the bartender brought her another shot, she let it sit in her hand for a little while as she looked around to all the different people, still speaking toward the man who was making conversation with her though. "But without socialization, or the strengthening of bonds with others, it leaves you on your own with no one to talk to that you can trust, and it's said humanity cannot survive without someone to confide in. And so people become desperate for affection and they'll continue to sin after sin after sin, making them feel even worse, until they wander off into places they don't belong," she smirked lightly before tucking her chin back into her scarf. "So why is someone like yourself in such a ramshackle bar? You obviously don't belong here, and I doubt you came here to talk about how the people around you drink... and you don't seem very lonely either, so you're out of place."

Drake stared at her for a moment as she seemed to be trying to find the right words to say or something, like she was having some sort of quick internal debate of pep-talk, was she nervous or scared? Drake didn't really know and he was no mind reader so he simply waited a moment. When she replied to him he got something that seemed to be out of the ordinary for most people when he started a conversations with them, and ACTUAL conversation about something that mattered. Internally he was sighing from relief that she wasn't an idiot or a robot, either not being smart enough to understand issues and see them for what they really are or stuck talking about popular trends and other things that Drake, at the end of the day, didn't really care about. This made him smirk for a moment before responding, also letting out a soft chuckle. "Control is a funny thing isn't it? Some have lots where as others don't, we all lose control every now and then in different ways, shapes and forms, the only thing saving us from doing this so often is our own composure. As for Heartbreak, Marriage and children, that is why one must never rush into a situation. These types of things happen because people begin to think one thing when they cannot see the whole picture, it's like claiming to know the universe when all you've ever really seen is the stars in the nights sky."

Clearing his throat for a moment, "I disagree with you on one thing. Humans can survive without someone to confide in, it's our own nature that has tricked us into thinking we need to be with someone, that we need someone to talk to, that we need someone to love us, these are all false. It's sort of like when someone is afraid of silence, they'll start to make random conversation about simply nothing at all instead of staying silent, they'll become awkward if there isn't a topic going around the room or they just simply want to hear they're own voice too much. This is because we've been taught that there's something wrong with silence when in reality there isn't anything wrong with it, or at least the way I see it. I could be sitting in a room with someone for hours without saying a word but we could still enjoy one another's company, things go much further beyond words."

Finally reaching his point in order to move on to address the last thing she had said, commenting on what he was doing there. She was right after all, he was actually out of place even if he tried to dress the part of belonging there. How easily she was able to read that he was out of place rather brought joy to him, it was rare that someone could spot that though it was those ones that were capable of spotting something that likes to hide in plain sight were the type of people that Drake wished to talk to, those that could look beyond the veil and see things for what they really are. Drake gave the girl a smile, he was truly please with this question, "Ahh, I've been caught. You are a lot more perceptive than I would have originally thought. Yes I am out of place in a way though I think i'd have to know you a little bit more personally in order to fully explain myself. There is however, some things that I could tell you." Drake said as he turned towards the bar and got another drink, this one being the same concoction of simply tequila and ice that he had been drinking before, it was his favorite. To most people it was like venom, something few drank because they'd become to intoxicated and do something stupid but to him it was like an anti-venom, healing him from the inside out.

"I am here because I'm sorta looking for people to join my new guild that I just started called Soulcalibur, there's a lot of things I have to do in my life, a lot of proving things, not to others though because i'm not really about proving myself to others, i'm more about proving things to myself. I didn't grow up in a setting like this at all, it was rather the opposite but I enjoy being around the real people, being apart of this world even though most of the time I feel as if i'm so far off in space, maybe not even a human at times. Of course, a bar is one of my favorite places to be, it calms me, I'm honestly not sure whether it's the simple and easy going atmosphere or the sounds, the people or the alcohol, maybe it's something about the symphony of all those combined that actually draws me to a bar, either way I enjoy it in a place like this." Drake touched his glass to his lips, taking a small sip before putting the glass back down and exhaling for a brief moment. He still had his back against the bar with his head tilted towards the girl that was now to his right since he had turned around. "So, now I'll ask, what's a girl like you doing in a place like this?"

Much to Aemi's surprise, this man actually had some depth to his conversation. Rather than most people who would come by and try to make "small talk", he was more interested in exchanging the philosophy of the subject. There weren't very many people left who did that, or at least, not in a bar scene anyways. Listening to what he had to say, she nodded in agreement. "I never said that it was scientifically proven, it's just what everyone likes to say. 'People can't just live their lives alone, it's not natural,' or... 'don't you get lonely avoiding people all day? Doesn't drive you mad?' When in reality, I thrive when I'm alone. I was far too dependent on another person for a very long time, and when they were taken away, I didn't even know who I was, or where to start." she explained.

"To avoid something like that from happening, I choose to live a 'lonely' life. I don't mind it, and sure it gets 'lonely', but then I come here. I simply need to company rather than the conversation," she closed her eyes, sipping the shot from the glass before setting it on the table. "No, I don't think it's true, it's just a myth that humans are not meant to be solitary creatures. The stigma falls on what society deems to be correct, and if you fall outside that circle then you're just considered an outsider." As she finished her sentence, she then listened to what he had to say about his guild, to which her eyebrow raised slightly. "So you're looking for people to join in a place like this? You won't find much of anything here, I'm afraid..."

But she remembered a similar scenario taking place. In one of the poorer districts, when Aemi was still barely making enough to live, and Kitten had approached her. She could have easily found more suitable members for the guild that had more experience and composure, yet she still chose her. But if she hadn't, where would she be now? She pursed her lips again to the thought. Maybe she wouldn't be so wary of her own guild if she had just declined the offer. She could have found a living elsewhere... but she couldn't dwell on the past. She was living in the now, and she had to come up with a solution fast.

Suddenly, the question was turned on her, to which she turned to face him with narrowed eyes. "A girl like me..." she mused. "You know nothing about me, so it's hard to say something like 'a girl like you', if you've barely read her story," she smirked. "I actually fit in quite well, despite my attire," she stretched in her seat before facing the bar again. "I grew up dirt poor, living on the streets. I understand these people just as they understand me. I know what it's like to struggle, and I know what it takes to survive. I just happened to be one of the lucky ones who crawled out of the pit... if you could call it lucky," she sighed. "I feel like I'm back to square one, especially when I can't even go talk to my own guild about my issues."

Drake chuckled softly as he listened to what she had to say, "I was merely being cliche~ I enjoy a good amount of cliche and sarcasm, they're things I find rather funny or amusing. I may have just barely begun to read your story but I am a very comprehensive reader, I never let even the slightest of details slip my attention. You can tell a lot about a person with a short but in depth conversation like we have been having as well as visual ques such as your stature, mannerisms and reactions to certain things I've been saying." Drake paused for a moment, sipping from his drink before setting it down once more, it had been half gone by now. "I get a vibe from you that there's more to it than that, I feel as if you try to be so strong and you are...yet...you are fragile as well. There's nothing wrong with being dangerous yet fragile, not when your with someone like me. I pride myself in an unwavering resolve, I know what I want and there's nothing that can stop me from getting it, I would rip apart the very heaven's if I must simply to succeed. You and I appear to be like two sides of a coin, you have a story, even so that you referred to yourself in the manner of a book where I am a blank book, I have many pages but I have yet to write on them. All I have to do is put my pen to ink and write and on a whim I could become whatever I wish, Its a very freeing feeling, one that very few have."

Taking a few more sips from his glass, keeping it in his hands as his gaze moved from her to his glass as he looked into the yellow tinted tequila as he swished it around in his glass. Drake let out a sharp sigh before downing the rest of his drink and putting it down on the bar behind him, talking about stories made him think about his mother and the tragedy that followed the most recent war. Swallowing down the harsh tequila he looked at the girl once more. "Let me ask you about your guild? I hadn't even noticed that you were a mage like me. How can you not talk to your guild mates about your issues but yet you can talk to me, some random man you've met at a bar whom you barely know?" Drake chuckled a bit, "Could I be that appealing?" He said in a sort of joking yet serious tone.

It had been a very long time since Drake had a good conversation with a woman, he mostly spent his time training his magic or studying the stars, he had a bit of a thing for space and all of it's rather unique and beautiful qualities. Being able to admire things that were actually so very far away from him despite being able to see the stars light in the nights sky helped him in a manner that put beauty into a different perspective for him than most other people would see. Drake was by no means normal but not in a bad way, his upbringings, interests and manners lead him to a certain way of thinking, one thought to be long dead. Most people simply thought he was just an aloof nut, going on about stars and other things that seemed to intangible to other people where Drake knew that anything is tangible, all one must do is reach our they're hand and grab at whatever it might be. Lost in his own thoughts for a moment while he was waiting for the girl to respond something dawned on him,"OH! How rude of me...I am Drake by the way, Miss-?" He said as his voice trailed off upon saying miss, prompting her to share her name as well.[/color]

Listening to what he had said, she waved her hand at the bartender to gesture that she had had enough to drink for the time being. While he continued to explain that the two of them were similar, yet completely different, she began to wonder what exactly he meant by that. "You can really get anything you like, huh?" she raised a brow. "That must be nice. If only I had that kind of luck. Some days are alright, and the others aren't worth trying," she leaned into the bar, holding her head up by her hand that was bent onto the counter. "And I doubt that you're a  blank script. You must have some kind of story. Everyone starts from somewhere, even if it's boring."

He then made note of her guild, to which her face went from intrigued to immediately sullen. She looked away from him, her facial features seeming to tighten as though it was curling toward her lips, which were pressed against her teeth. "There's not much to ask about. I didn't agree with some of the choices they've made recently, and now I want out," she closed her eyes. "It's a drag, but I can't exactly just leave. They'd kill me probably." She let her hand drop to the counter as she sat upright again, stretching  slightly as she cleared her throat. "It's just a bit easier to talk to strangers about these things. I'll never see them again, and I get it off my chest and move on with my life."

She didn't really know how else to put it. It really was her only choice at this point. With her brother missing and the only people she associating with being from the guild that she's avoiding, she needed someone to vent to. She just had to be careful not to say the wrong things to the wrong people, or else word would eventually get back. "I've just been hopping from town to town, keeping a low profile, and staying as far away from Magnolia as possible. That place is a war zone for people like me," she rolled her eyes in annoyance. With the light guilds building up their ranks and patrolling, she could be spotted from a mile away.... and not even because of her guild. "I'm not sure I'm even safe just walking out on the streets in daylight," she shrugged, running her hand over her neck as her finger traced her bar code tattoo, nervously. "Besides, the nomadic life is actually kind of enjoyable. Lots of fresh faces and new locations."

She then looked back at him after hearing his name and she nodded. "I'm Aemi."

She seemed to have misunderstood what he said a little bit, it wasn't that he was able to just get whatever it is that he wanted, it was that he knew how to get what he wanted, it wasn't because he was manipulative or anything like that, it was simply that he was rather smart, some might even go as far as to say a cut above all the rest but he would never say that, it would make him sound far to arrogant and he hated being arrogant. "I think you misunderstand me slightly, I can't just get whatever I want at the snap of a finger, there's more involved in it than that but principally speaking I just know what it is that I have to do in order to get something. I could explain but you'd probably think Im crazy and i'd rather not have that." Drake chuckled a bit and put on a little smile.

Seeing as Aemi hadn't ordered another drunk he decided not to either, he was already a little bit drunk anyway from the large amount of tequila that he had drank, he was still stable, he could walk just fine, talk without a slur and see just fine, it was almost like he wasn't drunk despite the fact that he was. "You are right, I am not an empty book it's just that so far there has been nothing note worthy to write down, I do have a story but believe me Aemi it is rather unimportant at the moment though if you really do wish to hear about me I will tell you, I just don't like talking about me much is all." He said as he trailed off a bit. He turned himself around to be standing and facing towards Aemi, with his hip against the bar, leaning ever so slightly. He had become intrigued with her, something that didn't happen all too often as most people he spoke with had trouble even holding a conversation with him for more than a mere minute which, to him, seemed a bit embarrassing on there part. "I see, so what your telling me is, maybe the guild you've chosen is perhaps not the right one for you actually, I can understand that looks and things of that sort can be deceiving so don't beat yourself up about it if you feel you've chosen the wrong guild, simply work to move past it."

Drake placed a hand on her shoulder gently, he wasn't all too sure how she would react to this but to him it felt right for some reason, the things she had told him made him feel slightly sad inside, not letting it show on his face however. "Im sorry things have been rough for you though i'm sure you are capable of working past it. Though you did say something that bothered me slightly, how can you be so sure that you'll never see me again? We could always become more than strangers you know?" Drake said as he gave her a little smile, to him it seemed that she tried to make most of her life impersonal so that she didn't have to keep coming back to the same people because she was use to being on the run all the time, moving around and never staying in one place for too long. This is the part where things got a little awkward for Drake, it was rare that he got nervous and most people, if asked, would tell you that Drake actually never got nervous and that he was actually just faking it though that would be a lie. If she were able to read his mind and asked, he wouldn't have even been able to tell her exactly what it was about her that had him intrigued to the point that he had been at that very moment, all he knew is that there had been something about her, maybe it was something she had said or maybe it was simply that she was even able to keep up conversation with him like this, moving beyond the typical conversations people would have, with him.

"H-how about you come with me then? I could escort you to my guild where you could stay for a few days, there is housing there. Besides I think I would not be able to sleep at all tonight if I let you sleep in some run-down hotel, I would feel bad. I also would like to continue on with this conversation, I don't know what it is but I rather enjoy talking to you, Aemi. The bar is probably getting close to closing, right around its usual time, I won't say im a regular here but I've been here a few times here and there. I wonder, would you care to accompany me?" He said, letting his hand slip gently off of her shoulder as he bit the inside of his bottom lip a little bit, it was a little nervous tick that he had.

Aemi had looked up at the clock and noticed that it was starting to get a bit late and she rubbed her eye for a moment as she breathed deeply, still listening to what he had to say. Well, whether or not he got things automatically or he just knew how to get it, it still seemed pretty lucky. Half the time Aemi needed something, she'd go through with how to get it and receive nothing but shit. That was life though, and she just had to learn when and when not to trust her instincts. Still, when he had suddenly mentioned that the two of them may not be strangers, she raised a brow and looked at him.

"I know that I can get past it, but it's whether or not they'll get past it as well. They're not too keen on people disagreeing with them,"
she explained. "And with how many people live in this world, it may not be easy to have run ins with you, with how much I travel," she shrugged. "However we may meet again if our guilds ever run into each other.... though that may not be a good thing....." she sighed. She wasn't really sure what kind of affairs Animus Sin ran, or who they allied with, but whatever the case, she assumed that they didn't really take kindly to other guilds if they didn't see things the same way.

There was a silence between them for a moment as she leaned back into the bar, looking around to see that the music had died down quite a bit, and it wasn't as full as it was when she had first gotten there. She had pulled out some money at that point, setting it on the bar so that the tender could put it toward her tab, to which Drake began speaking again. At first, Aemi seemed to had zone off for a moment. With everything that was on her mind, she was finding it harder and harder to focus, especially with the alcohol and sleep deprivation.

Once she had trailed her mind back to the conversation though, it hit her like a truck, her eyes widening as she slowly turned and looked at him. "Wait, what?" she sounded rather surprised. "You want me to go to your guild location..?" Was he that trusting? Or was he just stupid? "I-I don't know if that's a good idea, I mean, we barely know each other, for all you know, I... uh..." she tried to think of something that would make him rethink his choices. "I could be in the guild that terminated the council!" she put her hands up and shrugged. "I mean, I haven't told you much, and I've been pretty vague. You don't know what I'm capable of, or if I'm just baiting you."

She wasn't lying, of course. And she was from the guild that terminated them... but one of her favorite things to do was to tell the truth, but make it seem as though she were lying. But, she was also interested to see if he actually believed her. If he could see past her blank vagueness and tell what was true. And even if he couldn't figure out if she was part of Animus Sin, maybe he could still see she was part of a Dark Guild. Even then, what would he do next? Kill her? Take her prisoner? Maybe that's what she secretly wanted though. She was afraid to face her own guild because she knew they'd make her death as slow and painful as possible, yet if she were to go to someone else, maybe they'd make it quick.

After all, she just wanted a way out.

At first she appeared to have been spacing out a bit, it seemed she couldn't hold her alcohol quite as well as Drake had been able to, that or she had a lot going on at the time, Drake had concluded that the most likely answer would be a mixture of the two things as that seemed to be the most logical out of all the possibilities. Suddenly she had raised an eyebrow at him before she spoke. She spoke to him a little bit more about her guild, telling him that they didn't really take to kindly to people who did not agree with them, Drake thought that to sound a bit funny because he tended to not like people who didn't agree with him either. She spoke of how they could possibly end up meeting again, making things seem a bit grim as she mentioned that it most likely would not be on good terms, this rather bothered Drake because he had hoped that she was not right.

After she finished speaking about her guild things went silent between the two of them for a few moments. He wished to not display how upsetting that had seemed, he wasn't really one to expose his weaknesses so very well, he was good at seeming to be impenetrable whether it was all just a show or not, it really did help him out in the long run. Suddenly she had seemed to be caught off guard by what he had said, questing whether what he had just said was actually said or not. Drake assumed that, by the way she had been acting before this very moment, that she thought he was completely crazy for saying this and maybe he was just a tiny bit crazy. This seemed to either make her a bit uncomfortable or nervous, he couldn't quite tell as she started to studder her words ever so slightly. As she had asked him if he had wanted her to accompany him to his guild he simply nodded as she continued to ramble on seemingly nervously.

"For all I know, what?" He said, speaking right after she had said that, before she had time to think of something else to say, he then got quite again as he waited for her to think of something, he was smirking however, it was clear that there was something odd about what she was, or was trying to say. As she finished up what she had to say it made him chuckle a bit as he looked down at her. "Even if you may be apart of such a guild, I couldn't see you actually being able to do something like that so that won't phase me. And as far as you bringing up such a foolish idea that you'd be here trying to bait me, Well...." He said as his voice trailed off. Suddenly he Grabbed Aemi's hand and leaned in rather quickly, keeping his grin. Suddenly the room began to fill with an overpowering red light that seemed to be stemming from Drake or rather his magical aura that he had completely released in an instant, most people got up out of they're chairs and backed away a bit, the bartenders behind the bar ducked down getting low to the floor.

Drake looked behind him to see everyone else up out of they're seat, apprehension to be close to either of them. He slowly looked back at Aemi again, putting on a big smile, "Well if your baiting me then you'd better go get your Guild Leader because they're the only one that would be able to stand a change against me. Do you understand now?" There was a moment of silence in the bar as Drake's magical aura faded away, no longer tinting the inside of the bar a brilliant crimson color. People didn't move for a moment still, waiting to see if Drake were going to do anything, he hadn't planned on it he just wanted to show Aemi that no matter what she said she couldn't scare him into thinking something, she would have needed to get someone much more powerful if she'd wishes to do combat or even try to kill him and thus, whether she was actually a threat or not, he wouldn't be treating her as one.

Still keeping hold of her hand, though not quite as tightly as he had for a brief moment just a few seconds ago, he reached his other hand up onto her shoulder like he had done before. "Don't be so guarded, If that were your tactics to try to scare me away then you should probably work on that, I can't believe that would work on others~" He chuckled to himself a bit, he wasn't one to be scared away so easily. "So then, come on?" Drake said as he glanced towards the door of the bar.

When Drake suddenly grabbed her hand, she seized her body slightly as she was pulled in, looking around when he had revealed a bit of his power. Unable to respond, she watched the panic fill the people's eyes as they began taking cover and backing away. She had never seen magic like that, and wasn't even sure what to call it. What he was doing? And how? She turned back at him, overwhelmed and unable to properly think as she squeezed his hand. "Stop, you're scaring people!" she murmured to him as she looked around again, slightly embarrassed to be in the center of the attention with him.

The aura had faded, but no one seemed to move, she just stared at him in disbelief, unsure of how to respond to something like that. Would he really be able to kill her that quickly? But if she wasn't the bad guy in this situation, then what if he was? If she were to leave with him, he could easily overpower her as he just displayed. She didn't really understand why he was being so friendly toward her. She hadn't ever met someone who was so welcoming of company, at least, not unless they wanted something. She felt his grasp of her hand linger as she just stared for a moment before finally speaking.

"What are you getting out of this?" she asked. "Why me? What in the world interests you so much that you would offer me a place to stay when you barely know who I am?" she kept her eyes locked on him, in case of any other surprises he may have had. "I just feel like you have some ulterior motive to taking me back to your guild..." she sighed. "I'm sorry, I'm just not used to people being so trusting and open." She wanted to say yes, but at the same time, the little voice in her head was begging her to say no. There was that little bit of worry that was keeping her from making any bold decisions.

"If I go with you, I'd better have my own private space. I'm not too keen of sharing beds with strangers," she finally said after a long pause.

He looked back at her as she squeezed his hand, this made him laugh a little bit more, he could tell she was embarrassed since everyone was paying attention to the two of them, it seemed to him as if she wasn't used to being in the spotlight. He laugh turned into a simple smile, he liked putting people in situations similar to that. He looked away from her for a moment again, looking around the bar still keeping his smile on, "It's okay everyone, I was merely joking, you can go ahead and go back to what you were doing." He then turned back to Aemi, not letting go of her hand but not holding onto it so tightly as if she didn't have a choice. Her next question hit him sort of like a slap in the face thought he didn't let it show, it slightly annoyed him that people always thought they or someone else had to do something simply to get something out of anything, he wasn't really like that, he was rather care free and wasn't always the type to have an underlying motif.

He could tell that she was very confused by all of this, he suppose that she just simply wasn't use to moving so fast. She quickly apologized however, something she didn't really have to do but he could tell that she had some sort of compassion hidden within her seemingly hardened exterior, he was rather good at looking past things like that, seeing people for what they really are instead of what that person wants others to see them as. "I'm not exactly getting anything out of this other than good company, in time you'll learn about my selflessness, for me it's not always about getting something rather than doing something I enjoy or simply want to do. I don't make decisions based upon what I'll be getting in turn, I normally base my decisions off of whether I actually want to do something or not." He spoke rather calmly just to give her reassurance that he was not being hostile and did not have any hidden intentions with her especially after his brief display of power in the bar.

He leaned in towards her for a moment, sounding a little bit more serious than he had previously. "What kind of man do you take me for. Of course you'll have your own space. Do you really peg me as the type of person to come out here and use my mind as a weapon which I could easily do, coercing women to come to my guild with me and force them to sleep with me? I'm far above those types of tactics, I find them to be for the weak minded, all the way around in that type of circle. I'll probably be staying up all night by the fireplace anyway, I don't sleep very well these days so I find more comfort in staying up all night simply thinking, star gazing or just being by a fire, these sort of things are comforting to me." He paused for a moment, a thought came across his mind which made him start to laugh a little, "Though if you wanted to, I wouldn't stop you." He let his right hand slip off her shoulder as he started to laugh, covering half of his face with his now free right hand before running it through his hair.

"So now that we've covered all the bases of your concerns, would you care to join me? I could use the company really, especially since you aren't average company but rather better than." Through the whole time he hadn't let go of her hand, holding it gently, not even he had realized it at the moment since he had been talking but once he was done he did realize that he had done that, thinking on it he hadn't been to sure why he hadn't let go of her hand yet nor why she hadn't taken her hand from his, he rather liked the way it felt though.
