All she could remember was the riverside, and the river itself. Dark water that she somehow knew should have choked her felt like mere air. Where was she? Besides what she instinctively knew was a river? In fact, how'd she get there? It wasn't normal to wake up at the bottom of a river, correct? She felt like it wasn't, but she had an inkling feeling that it should be...
She was confusing herself. Unfolding her legs (after realizing she had been sitting criss-cross), the girl pushed herself up, swimming easily to the top of the water and to shore, flopping down half-in and half-out with a sigh. Even that small movement seemed to drain her energy, though she had no idea why she'd be tired in the first place. Had she been swimming before? What was the 'before' she thought of, however? Wait...
The girl lifted her head, blue bangs flopping over her eyes for a moment, staying stubbornly in place until she lifted her hand to push them away absently. What was her name? Blinking in confusion, she pushed herself up, getting unsteadily to her feet. Unfortunately, she managed only one small step before she tripped over the hem of a skirt she didn't remember putting on, her body tumbling into the mud with a loud slapping sound. Letting out a groan, she stayed still for a moment, unwilling to move. After a moment, her hand instinctively rose up, stroking the jewel ingrained in her skin just below the collarbone. What was going on? Had she been hurt? She didn't feel all that hurt, just tired. Really, really tired...
Shaking her head, the girl attempted to wake herself. If she couldn't remember where she was, now wasn't the best time to be sleeping. Gritting her teeth and acquiring a steely look to her eyes, she got to her feet once again, this time taking care to avoid stepping on her- now mud covered- dress. "Hello?" she called out, looking around. She received no answer. Letting out a sigh, she reached up, touching the jewel once more. Guess all there is to do is walk. And so, she did just that, turning and following the river, shaking her head occasionally to rid herself of wet strands flopping into her eyes.
