Foot steps echoed as Fūjin walked to the previously white marble balcony which had been enchanted a few days previously to turn pitch black all the while giving off an eerie orange glow; that came from moving lights on the marble guild hall's surface taking the form of pumpkins, cats, ghosts and skulls. He stepped out showing the was wearing a costume that made him look like a tall lean man with black hair, a short beard, mustache and sideburns that point upwards having clearly grown out the facial hair before dying all his hair dark brown hair black. While his eyes were now strangely colored yellow from his natural cold piercing gunmetal blue the attire he dawned consisted of a wide-brimmed black hat decorated with a large plume, and a long, open black coat with no shirt underneath, with red, flower-patterned sleeves and collar. Along with white dress pants held up by a decorated belt and tucked inside overly large boots while a golden crucifix pendant. Plus to complete the costume, on his back he had a large curved blade in the shape of a crucifix, with a golden handguard decorated by red beads hilt wrapped in bandages and a simple flintlock pistol on his belt.

The sound of a church clock striking twelve echoed through out the hall carrying a spine chilling wind with it. The young guild master now looking almost thirty years older coughed loudly extending his arms out to the small crowd of the members whom joined his guild and those whom just wished to attended as the sound of the crowd settled. "Ladies, gentlemen, friends, family and members of this guild!" He addressed the people whom were below him in a booming voice as he began to slowly walk his way down the hand rail of the stairs while he spoke. "Thank you for attending this little celebration we decided to host on Día de Muertos and hoped you all have enjoyed yourselves thus far, but the night is still young. Many of this guild's members both old and new have yet to be acquainted with each other along with those from other guilds." He stepped off the railing landing silently onto the glowing floor "I hope you all take the time to just so and get together as remember and celebrate those whom are no longer with us, though on a more joyful note..." Fūjin walked over to a table covered in a self service buffet with bowels of punch pouring himself a cup full holding it up skyward "Feliz Dia de los Muertos!!"

The brunette was rather extravagantly dressed. An exquisitely crafted white gown draped its way over her shoulders, exposing the slope of her collar bone-- a peek of tasteful skin, as the fabric hugged the lines of her body, flaring out gently as it reached her hips. If one looked close enough, they would see embroidered patterns of spider webs and flowers dotted with crystals that glistened with the eerie orange glow. Her face was pale-- even paler than normal: monochromatic save for the  shadows that contrasted her eyes and cheek bones. She looked gaunt, but the contrast of the youthful sparkle in her eyes turned the canvas of her face into something much more elegant than she intended. Her hair was pulled simply to the side, an understatement to the large flower crown that adorned her head. Such a costume, however did not ensure that she was being incredibly social, in fact it had made it more difficult, it had seemed.  A wardrobe malfunction had caused her to arrive late. She had just started to make her way through the crowd when the first strike of the clock had frozen her.

Each resounding echo of the grandfather clock struck its way into the woman's chest, stealing her breath. She stood statuesquely at the base of the stairs. She was a part of the crowd, as she had been for a good while now. Despite the large congregation, however, an icy chill took over the woman, crawling down her spine with each resonating echo. Regardless, the brunette's viridescent orbs intently watched the figure at the top of the stairs. Had she not known that the figure belonged to her guild master, she would not have believed it, even as he settled the crowd with his sonorous voice.

She remained frozen as he spoke, absorbing the words and reflecting on them. She wasn't shy, but she was afraid of getting hurt. Perhaps she was more guarded than she had been previously, but she couldn't be the only one. Distance was after all, a perfectly acceptable reaction to grief. Common even. She swallowed back a lump in her throat that she had become far too familiar with. "Celebrate those who are no longer with us." His words oscillated in her rib cage as he walked to the table and toasted his punch. She was no longer watching the man, instead her eyes were where he had started still, watching the shadows that danced across the ground. Her stillness, however, hadn't prevented her from raising her own cup to his salute, pushing the punch past her lips. It was less difficult to swallow than she had thought it would be, and soon the contents of her cup were depleted.

It was the empty cup that had freed her from the stillness. She made her way to the punch bowl, dipping the ladle in. There was bound to be someone at the table close enough to hear her speak. It was the guild master's orders to be social, after all: even if it wasn't expressed in that many words.  "It was a good speech." she would say, her voice definitive in its attempt to cover any lingering melancholy. As the punch found its way to her cup, and the ladle to its bowl, her eyes searched for a recipient to her words, and their reaction. It was always possible that no one had paid attention to them, after all.

Alexander stood at the base of the balcony that Fujin stepped out at, never to far from his friend. Fujin was the only that Alexander came out to the party, other than the constant sounds of people and festivities. Even with Alex's distaste, he still provided himself with a sorta of 'costume' consisting of his usual suit, a black cape, some face paint, and plastic vampire teeth. He wore this all while keeping his souless looking face, most likely giving even more 'life' to his outfit.

As Fujin walked over to the punch bowl and gave his speech, Alexander peacefully got a cup himself and started to sip on it, waiting for the introduction to finish. As Fujin did finish, so did Alex's cup of punch as he spoke quietly to Fujin " I hope this doesn't last to long tonight, I would like to eventually get some sleep. Though I guess I should go to the door and welcome any arrving guest. It is up to you, knowing how you are not too fond of these things as I am." As he spoke, he took the time to refill his cup with more drink.

Stopping at the door to the guild hall, Kitsune paused. The door lay open, but he didn't step inside just yet, his tails waving aimlessly behind him as he took in a breath, taking in the scent of the area. It didn't seem all that dangerous... At least he smelled food. He'd only come because he'd heard the lighting would be dark enough to leave his eyes be for a bit. Even the journey here, the last bit of walking having been in the twilight, wasn't as bad as he'd usually expect for a journey. Though, it seemed many of them were in costume? Had he been expected to wear one? The Captain hadn't mentioned it when telling them about the party... Even so, his regular appearance would probably serve as one. As long as nobody stepped on any of his tails, it would be fine. Plus, it would be better to have some sort of representation for the guild here. Something about etiquette...

Shaking his head, Kitsune flicked one ear, and stepped inside his steps light enough that they didn't make a sound. Always in a hunter's tread, as his father used to say. His expression changed to one of relative calm, and he let his arms fall to his sides. His tails lifted up off the ground, waving behind his head with the remaining worry of being stepped on. It didn't seem like many people were yet, so he simply paused, looking around the room, quietly observing. Was this what a party was like? Or was he simply early? He'd attempted to get here right on time, as was polite. Of course, it hadn't helped that walking through towns brought hoards of children after him, attempting to pet his tail like he was a house pet of some sort. It got a bit irritating after a while, even if it didn't hurt.
