    Conjured/Created Items

Post by Kyoto on Mon Feb 01, 2016 5:41 pm

So as we know there are certain people that are able to create items via their own magic. With this magic they should be able to sustain the created object for a certain amount of time. Each Rank (based on the spells rank) will determine the duration and cooldown for the created item and other important information such as damage given/received and other various options.

Reason it says WIP! Now open for comments and hate replies on why you dislike me I mean this post.

Rank  D - Duration/Cooldown: 3/4 Weapons are able to deal D-Rank damage each turn during its duration on successive hits. Armor is able to block D-Rank Damage once before being destroyed.

Rank  C - Duration/Cooldown: 5/6  Weapons are able to deal C-Rank damage each turn during its duration on successive hits. Armor is able to block upto C-Rank Damage once before being destroyed.

Rank  B - Duration/Cooldown: 7/8  Weapons are able to deal B-Rank damage each turn during its duration on successive hits. Armor is able to block upto B-Rank Damage once before being destroyed.

Rank  A - Duration/Cooldown: 9/10  Weapons are able to deal A-Rank damage each turn during its duration on successive hits. Armor is able to block upto A-Rank Damage once before being destroyed.

Rank  S - Duration/Cooldown: 12/13  Weapons are able to deal S-Rank damage each turn during its duration on successive hits. Armor is able to block upto S-Rank Damage once before being destroyed.

Rank  SS - Duration/Cooldown: 15/16  Weapons are able to deal SS-Rank damage each turn during its duration on successive hits. Armor is able to block up-to SS-Rank Damage once before being destroyed.

I think the discrepancy in this was the duration, but now there's a discussion of letting them do damage each turn with a spell? No way Jose. If you want to do that, you buy the weapon and get a stat boost or you train that stat. I'm open to talk about duration, but the way spells work is that they do damage once during the duration and that's that. Otherwise I could do SS-Rank 7 times (with a 7 post duration) and literally destroy people of my own rank with that one spell lol

You have to land a hit I think we keep for getting this isn't an auto-success-hit kind of thing. You keep forgetting that it is a weapon, a weapon doesn't become weaker in damage unless it was something significant happening to it (Broke, Rusty, etc) It just isn't even logical that a weapon can only damage you 1 time at it's weapon rank considering it isn't broke or anything. What I am more partial to is with each duration the damage of the weapon drops until it dissipates.

For example - C-Rank Sword is able to do C-Rank damage the first two durations it is active and D-Rank damage the last three durations of it's existence.

I just don't see how a weapon can only do "upto" X-Damage once

No, I get that, but it's magic plain and simple. There's lots of other melee type magics (Palm Magic, for example, to state something canon off the top of my head) that wouldn't get this boost. Unless you wanna make this boost for all magic melee attacks, in which case I would be able to discuss this.

In any case tho, the point is, X Rank mage can now take someone out with just that sword if they're faster than the other person since they can attack as many times as they want with it and not get hit. Plus, at close range it's much harder to dodge than it is at long range, so imo people specializing with these close range weapons are gonna be a lot better off if they're already focusing on their speed to be able to dodge whatever comes close to them. That's why spells are only supposed to do damage once per duration.

In any case, how do these weapons work with stats as well? Do you even need a high strength stat to wield weapons?

Why would you need high strength to wield weapons? Unless they are carrying a sword like Clouds I don't see why strength plays apart. Now keep in mind you say it puts melee fighters at an advantage but currently endurance only effects them. So wouldn't that off set them? I do see the flaw although in a real fight a swords damage doesn't change unless it gets damaged.

Using X Rank, allow first attack to be that of SS-Rank and those after be of S-Rank. So first attack is 1 rank below, those after two rank below unless your C or D rank minimum will be D Rank.

Hmm... I think that would be okay. If we need to make any changes to it in the long run, we can, but for now it looks good.

honestly, if this is a spell, it stays a spell. the mechanics are a spell, everything is a spell.

Now, what do I mean? exactly that. I dont care if you didn't cause damage with a weapon spell cause you missed or didn't take damage for not using it, but if you're gonna use magic to summon it, you better know what you're doing.

If you want it to last longer/indefinitely, then buy a weapon. But all spells should follow spell guidelines.

Feel free to try to convince me otherwise though and, if i didnt seem to grasp the concept of this then tell as me wel
