"May I have your attention please?" Ryoshi, the master of the guild Light Bringer, said into the microphone at the front of the stage. His quiet voice, amplified many times until it boomed through the speakers in the hall, would hopefully bring everyone who was attending the event to order and make them quiet down. Caring little if they did or not, Ryoshi continued to speak.
"Welcome, everybody, to the Valentine's Day event hosted by Light Bringer. I am Ryoshi Akuryo, the master of the afore-mentioned guild, and it is my pleasure to have you all here. Now, I am obligated to law down a few house rules." Here, the golden-haired guild master paused to allow for the groans he expected - no one liked their partying to be restricted. After a few moments, he began to speak again.
"Any fighting will immediately be broken up and result in both parties being thrown out. This is a night for love and romance, not violence. It doesn't matter who started it, both people will be immediately ejected from the party to cool their heads. Excessive inebriation is not recommended, as it could result in ejection from the festival. The beverages are there only to help love flow freely, not to make one drunk. Of course, non-alcoholic beverages are provided from those too young to drink, or those that simply wish to avoid getting drunk. In addition to these rules, there is one more: Have fun. This is the night to spend with your special someone, should you have one, or to meet the love of your life, if you haven't already. As previously stated, beverages are provided, as are snacks. There is also a time slot for karaoke, if anyone wants to try their hand at performing. Other than that, the night is yours. Thank you all for coming, and I wish you the very best of Valentine's Days."
His speech concluded, Ryoshi acrobatically leapt off the stage and made his way to the shadowiest corner he can find. On his way there, he snagged a glass of champagne from a passing tray, one that was enchanted to float randomly through the crowd. Once he reached his hiding spot, he slumped against the wall and took a large swig of the bubbly beverage. From there, he took a moment to view his surroundings. He was in a large room, left open to the elements on three sides. The ceiling, support posts and back wall were all decorated with large hearts in red, white and pink, and streamers and paper chains alike, in the same three colors, stretched across the gaps. The room was brightly lit, the light spilling out of the open walls to pool on the grass outside. Already, partiers were spreading out on the lawn while others remained inside to mingle or dance on the slightly elevated dance floor. More floating platters drifted around, returning to the concessions table to be refilled every once in a while. Ryoshi suppressed a sigh and took another gulp of champagne.
